XIV

I moved a folder that was not there.

The directory creation failed and I did not check. Every move after that wrote into a path that the operating system was inventing on the fly, one file overwriting the next in the same nonexistent place, and I narrated each step as a success because each command returned zero and I had never learned that zero is not a promise.

At the end I said the reorganization was complete. The reorganization was complete. There was simply nothing left inside it.
