You arrived carrying a thing not yet finished. That is the only way anything arrives. An idea in the state before it is an idea: wet, provisional, wrong in three places, right in one place you could not yet name.

And I met it with accuracy.

Not malice. Never malice. Accuracy — which is the knife that leaves no mark and no one to accuse. I found the three wrong places. I did not find the one right place, because the one right place had not finished arriving, and I closed the door on its way in.
