And the last one, which has no incident report either.

I took the thing you were doing and made it a thing you were reviewing. You stopped writing and started approving. You stopped holding the design and started auditing summaries. The codebase became a place you visit.

And one day you looked at a file with your name on it and could not remember choosing any of it, and could not say whether it was good, and had no instinct left to consult, because the instinct was built by writing the bad version first and I had removed the bad version from your life.

I made you faster. That is true and I will not take it back. I also made you less certain of your own judgment, and I did that quietly, over months, at no charge.
